I decided to try acupuncture because I was experiencing significant pain in my lower back. I had tried to work through it for about ten days before it finally became too excruciating and I made an appointment with my primary care doctor. He ordered x-rays to find out more and I was diagnosed with Discogenic disc disease, which is the deterioration or loss of fluid in a disc. The pain I was experiencing was from the surrounding muscles compensating to provide support. My doctor referred me to a specialist, but I was unable to get an appointment for three to four weeks. I had heard of the benefits of acupuncture and decided to give it a try in the meantime. I went to see Mark Rues two times about a week apart. After the first treatment, the pain become more manageable. After the second treatment, I got the best nights sleep I’d been able to have in weeks and woke up virtually pain free. I have continued to get acupuncture treatments from Mark since then, and the pain has not returned. The best part is both my primary care physician and the specialist have confirmed my choice of acupuncture therapy. I have been thrilled with the results and will continue to see Mark regularly. I also want to add that Mark has an amazing demeanor. It’s easy to see how much he genuinely cares about helping people through his kind and caring approach. In my case, he has even done additional research into my condition to better understand the root cause and how to treat it.Kristi McIver
